Mr. Hugh Woods, bass-baritone, who is rapidly establishing himself as a favourite -at 1YA, is singing this evening, "Yeomen of Hngland," "Dream Wnthralling,’ and "Deeper." Instrumental items will be provided by the String Octet under the direction of Mr. Whiteford Waugh, and included in their numbers is "The Indian Summer Suite," a particularly fine piece of music. Mr. A. B. Chappell, M.A., will give a further Topical Talk. Mr, Karl Atkinson will broadcast anofher of his popular gramophone lec-tuxe-recitals, this time on "Voices of the Orchestra." ; Popular Night at 2YA OCAL numbers will be given by Miss’ Ella Fair. and Mr. A. W. Beckford, soprano and baritone respectively. Miss Fair’s items will be "I Will Make You Brooches" by Coningsby Clarke, "A Necklace of Love" by Nevin and "You Lovely Thing," by Anderson. Mr. Beckford will contribute two-numbers from musical comedy and a ballad number. These will be "A Bachelor Gay" (from "The Maid of the Mountains") and "They Wouldn’t Believe Me" (from "Tx night’s the Night") and the ballad "A Chip of the Old Block." Novelty instrumental items will be furnished by Mrs. Mildred Kenny’s Mandolin Band, the items ‘comprising two groups of popular melodies. Two popular entertainers, Mr. Will McKeon and Miss Maisie Oakes, will contribute popular songs, duets, humorous numbers and sketches to this programme. The Salon Orchestra, under Mr. M. T. Dixon, will play as an overture a selection from "Russian Folk. ‘Songs" arranged by Higgs, and other items by this combination will
