RELAY FROM TOWN HALL ee MR. STANLEY WARWICK AND PARTY. On Monday, November 28, there Will be a special relay by 2YA from the Concert Chamber of the Wel: lington Town Hall of an entertain: ment arranged by Mr. A. Stanley Warwick, elscutionist, in conjunction with Mr, Len Barnes, One of the iterns will be a Dickensian sketch, in which Mr. Warwick — will meet Mr. Pinch in the character of Mr. Tigg, and the evening will conclude with a most humorous playlet entitled "A Quiet Little Dinner.’ Supplementing the excellent clocutionary efforts of Mr. Warwick and pupils-Miss Mavis Rolls, Miss Violet Wilson, Mr. Eric North, Mr. Ced. Gardiner and Mr. Peter Dorrian-there will be an exceptionally attractive musical programme. ‘To this there will be some uotable contrifutors, Miss Gretta Stark has been described by "The Dominion" as the most promising lyric soprano heard in Wellington for years. She sings with much daintiness. Miss Rita Arnold (contraito) scored a great success in her solos with the Orpheus Musical Society in the ‘Iegend of Nerbuddo" last August. On this, her first appearance before the microphone, ‘The Dominion’ said of her singing: "The best of the soloists, who joined a very pleasant voice to good enunciation and quict artistry," Mr. Frank Skinner (tenor) has been engaged to sing the solos in "The Messiah’’ for the New Plymouth Choral Society next mountli. Tle is a good light penor and is quickly coming to. the ore. Mr. Ray Kemp is probably the finest amateur baritone in Wellington, He has appeared with great success with the Orpheus Musical Society, and as Abercoed in "Florodora" with the Wel. lington Amateur ‘Theatrical Society. His numbers will be "Water Boy," a negro convict song calling for the water boy and "El Dorado." |
