Joseph's Cathedral, Dunedin, and high esteem in which she is held were no doubt responsible for St r. ini ;f rest n in her marriage to Mr. Michael McGrath, of Napier, at the Cathedral on April 29 - The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father (Joffey Adm., wiho was also celebrant of the Nuptial Mass! Miss E. Falkner (sister) acted as bridesmaid, while Mr. m. Lenoion was groomsman. At the conclusion 01 the ceremony the guests accompanied the happy couple to the Waratah Rooms, where the wedd'lng breakfast was laid. Rev. Father Cofley proposed the toast of the bride and bridegroom, and in doing so referred to the good work which the bride had done in connection with the different Catholic organisations, and heartily wished Mr. and Mrs. McGrath a happy future. Messrs. Sligo, Marlow, and Lennon also joined in wishing the happy couple a long and prosperous career. DOOLAN— GREGAN. A pretty and interesting wedding (writes our Christchurch correspondent) was celebrated in the Cathedral on April 30. T-he contracting parties were Mr. F. J. Doolan, elder son of the late Chief-Detective Richard Doolan, and popular secretary of the local branch of the H.A.C.B. Society, and Miss Annie Cecilia Gregan, daughter of Mr. Daniel Gregan, at Linw o od, late of Pl-asan't Valley, Geraldinc. The Rev. Father O'Hare celebrated the Nuptial Mass and officiated at the'marri'ar;e ceremony. The bride, who was given 1 away by her falher, wore an ivory white all over lace rob©, trimmed with satinj ribbon, veijl, and wreath, and carried a shower txouqaiet of white! flowers. The bridesmaids were Miss S. Gregan (sister of the bride) and Miss Maud Doolan (sister of the bridegroom'). The bride's brothers, Mr. John Gregan and Mr. Martin Gregan, filled the positions of best man and groomsman respectively. The bridegroom's presents to the bridesmaids were pretty jewelled pendants. The wedding breakfast was partaken of at the residence of the bride's famly, ' Geraltline Villa,' Tuam, street, Linwood, about 40 guests being present. The health of the newly-wedded) couiple was proposed by the Rev. Father O'Hare. Subsequently the gathering was photographed, and by the midday express the happy couple left for Queenstown on a tour of the southern lakesi. In the evening an 'at home ' was given in the Oddfellows' Hall, St. Asaph street, about 100 persons being present. The presents received were many and costly, including a number of cheques. O'CONNOR— McGUTRE. A very pretty but quiet wedding, was celebrated jat St. Benedict's Church on , Tuesday morning, April 28, (writers our Auckland correspondent), the contractingparties bein^, Miss Nellie McGuire, sixth daughter of Mrs. P. M. McGuire of Auckland, and Mr. iMaurice O'Ccn-or, third son of Mr. fMaurice O'Connor of "Wellington. The Rev. Father Ekia;e officiated at the marriage, and also (celebrated the Nuptial Mass. The brHe, who was {riven away by her mother, looked cht&rming In a pretty creme frock, (relieved with silver trimmings, and a large* white hat with ostrich plumes. She carried -a beautiful shower ' bouqutet and wore a handsome gold nee', let and pendant set- in pearls and tourmalines, the frift of the bridegroom. Misses Teresa O'Connor" and, Dolly McGuire attended as bridesmaids, and darned bteaul#~ ful shower bouquets, gifts of the bridegroom, |who also presented the first bridesmaid with a diamond and -ruby brooch, and the second with a cable bangle. Mr. J. O'Connor acbed as best man. The wedding pireakfast was su!bse*j uently served at thie residence' of ' ttie triVs pio^her. Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor proceeded to Rotorua for thgir honeymoon before returning to their future home at Palmerston NortK. . jj
