DUNEDIN HORSE SALFYARDS. Messrs. Stephenson, and Co. report as fol-' lows :—: — The... market continues bare of supplies of first-class draughts. This week our entries were made up, with a
few exceptions, of lr odium and inferior sorts. The attendance was good, both town and country buyers being present, and anxious to secure horses for immediate worlc. As is usual at this time of year" hacks and l'igh-t harness Jiorses are not in such strong demand, and prices ha\e eased slightly. Still, whenever a read g*>od: sort is put on the jnairket it commands - attention and realises current rates. 'We quote • Superior young draught geldings, at from £45 to £50 • extra good do (prize-winners), at from £50 to £55 '• superior young, draught mares, at from £50 to £60 • medium- draught mares and geldings,, -at from £30 to' £40 ; aged do, at from £15 to £2U ; well-matched carnage pairs, at from £70 to £300 ; strong spring-van horses, at from £25 to £30 ; milk-cart and butchers' order-cart horses, at from £18 to £35 ; light hacks, at from £8 to £1-3 ; extra good hacks and harness horses, at from £13 to, £25 ; weedy and gocd do, at from £5 to ob 7, v
