The Department of Industries and Commerce j^ias received the following cablegram dated London 25th inst— Mutton.— The market is .quiet, with t less demand and a tendency in favor of. buyers. Canterbury brands a r © quoted -at 4£d. and N o rth Island' at 4<l. The weather lately has been very unfavourable for the sale of lamb, and 1 the marfctet is quiet. Canterbury lamb is quoted at s*d._ ,?jml other Canterbury brands at 51-d. I The beef market is dull. Hind 1 and forequarters arc quoted respectively at 3|d. and t3-^d. The butter market is very firm,- and there is a general ani active demand for the choicest, New Zealand butter fos qiioted at 102s, Australian 108s., Danish 1125., and Siberian 108. We held our weekly auction sale of grain and produce at our stores on Monday. To a representative attendance of buyers we submitted a full catalogue, made up of most classes of produce &at" satisfactory prjices. Values ruled as under :-^
