WAIHI
(From our travelling correspondent.) Keen interest is being displayed here by the local branch of the H.A.C.B. Society in the forthcoming conference to- be held in Auckland, during this month. Two of their members are" journeying to the city to represent the branch, and will on their return present a report of the business transacted there. Speaking last Sunday week at 'both^ Masses, the Very Rev. Father Brodie pointed out to his congregation the benefits to be derived from -good Catholic literature, and urged his hearers to support the only Catholic paper of the' Colony, the ' N.Z. Tablet.' He announced that the representative of the journal was in town and would he pleased to receive the names of those who would- care -to become subscribers. The annual sports to be held here on Easter Monday, under the auspices of the H.A.C.B. Society, promise to be the most successful ever Weld in Waihi. A first-class programme* which would do credit to a much larger centre, has been arranged. G-iven fine weather, the people of Waihi and surrounding districts are assured of a good day's amusement. -'
