(From our own correspondent.) March .7. A large number of members o£~ the St. Columiba Clubi assembled at their rooms last 'Thursday evening to ibid farewell tco "their \tiee-presaklent, Mr. M. F. Hanstay, of the local Telegpapth Department, who has been promoted to New Plymouth. The, president (Mr. M. J. Phillips) in a brief speech, referred to the loss the cluib would sustain through Mr. Hansbery's dtv parture. He had been a most energetic member, since the club was started, and had "^always taken a keen interest in its progress. On behalf of the members, the president had much pleasure in presenting their deparfoir|gj guest with a small token of their esteem, in the shape of a gold-moun.ted watch guard, with gol'4 medal- suitably inscribed. Several other' memibers spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr. Hansbery, who thanked the memibers for their handsome present, which '{would always remind him of the many happy days spent in. •the club rooms. Mr. Hansbery was also the recipient of a handsome silver watch from his fellowemployees in the local Post and Telegraph service.
