The St. Mary's Cricket Club opened the season with a match against the Wanganui College, and suffered defeat by 22 runs, the scores being, Wanganui College, 101 ;- St. Mary's, 79. 00 o ,
Another of our young men has passed away. -Mr. Charles Patrick Brough, son of one of - our esteemed parishioners, Mrs. Brough, Plymouth street, succumbed to. that terrible disease, consumption,, at the early age .of thirty. . The funeral took place on Thursday, and was largely attended. We tender our sincere sympathy to his mother and relatives.~R.lJ?. The social gathering held in the Drill Hall oh Thursday in aid of the 'Aramoho church fund was largely attended, there being upwards of 300 people present. The decorations were very tastefully arranged by members of the St. Mary's Club, "and the refreshments were provided by_ the ladies of the parish. The fund will be augmented considerably by the eveninc's proceeds. . &
