We held our weekly auction sale of grain and produce at our stores on Monti-ay. There was a moderate attendance of buyers, but, as most of these were intent on business, good competition was experienced throughout, and the catalogue was cleared at satisfactory prices. Values ruled as under :— Oats.— There is strong inquiry for oats of all descriptions. B grade have most attention, but A grade, fair average quality, and inferior lines are all readily saleable. To-day's quota lions show considerable disparity between prices quoted at northern and southern ports, biu<t in this market owners can rely on securing—For A grade, Is Hid to 2s ; good to best feed (B grade), Is 10£ dto Is ll£d ; inferior to medium, Is 9d to Is lOd per bushel (sacte extra)w Wfiieat.— Millers are not operating very freely, exceipt in choice samples, whiten find ready sale. Medium quality is only inquired tor occasionally. Fowl wheat is scarce, and continues to meet good demand. We qiuote : Prime milling, 3s 2d to 3s 4d '; choice, to 3a 4d ; medium, 3s Id ; whole fowl wheat, 2s lid to 3s; broken and damaged, 2s 8d to 2s lOd per bushfll (sacks extra). Potatoes —Consignments have not been heavy, and with considerable reduction on <the quality being imported, holders' prospects haive improved 1 . During the past few days there ihas been better im<q\uiry, arad prices have firmed about 10s per ton. ''We (qjuote : Best Derweaits, £10 10s to £11; medium, £9 10s to £10; inferior and small, £5 to £8 per ton ; best white sorts, £10 to £10 10s , others, £8 to £9 10s per ton (bags in). Cftaff.— Prune oaten sheaf, which is the only class in good demand, has fair sale at quotations, but lower grades are difficult to place. We quote : Best oaten sheaf, £3 7,s (id to £3 10s , choice, to £3 12s 6d ; medium to ffood, £3 to £3 5s ; inferior, £2 10s to £2 15s per ton (bagvs extra).
