The entries were small and the attendance poo^, owing to the holiday and bad weather, Wut business was. good. Fat Cattle.— l 64 wore yarded, generally of good quality. The sale opened quietly, but closing rates equalled last week's. Prime steer and heifer beef realised 25/- to 2ft/- ; extra to 30/- ; olihors, 21/- to 24/per 1001 b. Extra prime steers brought <up to £13; prime, £10/5/- to £12/15/-; others, £7/12/6 to £|1O ; extra p.- ime heifers up to £10 ; others, £6/2/6 to £8 l'O/- ; cows, £5/17/6 to £8/17/6. Fat Sheeip.— The entry was small, but the qluality good. Average values, equalling last week's, were maintained. A few good shorn sheep mafle 21/- for wethers, and 1873 for ewes. In the wool t(he rates
were :7-W€tili,ers, - prime > 25/-, to 29-/5,; medium, 21/- to 24/6 ; ewes', good, 22/- to 24/- ; Wdftim, 19/- to 21/6 ; hogig:etS,, % lß-/8 to 21/7 ; medium, 20/- to '23/6 ; others, 11/- to 19/-. , j Lam,bs.— Aboiut 90 were ponded. Best sold at 18/Uo 2,1/- ; lighter, 16/- to 17/6. rigs,.— The entry of all classes was ffmall. Porkers sold well, but baooners ajid stores were easier. Biaconers made 45/- to 57/6, equal to 4£d to 6d per lb ; porkers, 3>o/i to 42/-, equal to 3d l-o s£d , stores, large, 2£/~ to 2,8/6 ; medium, 15/- to 17/- ; suckers and wenneors 9/- l to 11/-.
