ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

There was a large entry of stock and a good attendance of buyers at the Addington market. Fat Cattle. — 172 head were yarded, and prices were firm at an increase on last week's rates. Steers brought £6 15s to £10 ; extra prime, to £15 12s 6d ; heifers £5 17s 6d to £11 10s ; cows, £5 5s to £10 15s. Beef, 28s to 31s per 1001 b. Fat Sheep. — There was another large yarding, and the keen demand which has been noticeable for some time was again in evidence, recent rates being more than maintained. Freezers, wethers, and best quality ewes showed a rise of 6d per head. A feature of the sale was a consignment of 38 show wethers from the New Zealand and Australian Land Company's Totara Estate, which realised from 35s to 65s per head, the higher price constituting a record for the Colony. The range of prices was : Extra heavy wethers, 35s to 65s ; freezing wethers, 17s to 263 3d ; merinos for freezing, 16s to 20s ; others, lls Id to 14s 2d ; freezing ewes (aged), 14s to 20s ; butchers', 12s 6d to 21s 5d ; wethers and ewes, 17s 4d to 21s 9d. Fat Lambs. — 1550 head were yarded, and all prime quality met with keen competition on the part of 1 export buyers, with the result that prices advanced 6d per head on the previous week's rates, and the quantity secured by butchers was very small. Tegs, 17s 9d to 19s 9d ; a few extra large, 27s 6d ; freezers, 13s 7d to 17s 6d ; butchers', 12s 6d to 16s. Pigs. — There was a small entry, and an improved demand for baconers. Prices were as follows : Baconers, 45s to 625, equal to 4|d to 5d per 1b ; porkers, 34s to 445, equal to 5d to s£d per tb ; choppers, £3 to £5 18s. Messrs. Stronach, JTorris and Co., report as follows : Clearing Sale. — We sold, on account of D. Harris, at Hteywood Point road, all his dairy cattle, farm implements, etc., at very satisfactory figures, buyers from Christcbvrch and the north being present. The cattle were eagerly competed for, and cows made up to £8 17s 6d, wlfile all other articles made good prices.
