Napier, June 18.— The C.C. and D. Company cable to-day as follows :— ' There is a rise in the value of lamb. Quotations are Canterbury mutton, 3|d • Napier, Wellington, and North Island, 3gd. Lamb : First quality, s{d ; second, sd. Beef : Hinds, 4*d ; fores, 3d.' London, June 20. — San Francisco wheat is quoted at 5s 6sd ; maize (June and July shipment), 2s sd. London, June 21 .—Frozen Meat. — Sheep: Canterbury — light, unchanged, medium unchanged, heavy 3»d • Dunedin and Southland Unchanged ; North Island, 8 7-10 d. Lamb : Canterbury — light 5 5-1 fid, heavy 5%d ; Dunedin and Southland, 5 l-16d ; North Island, 4 15-16 d. New Zealand beef, 1801 bto 2001 b (nominal)— ox fores 2|d, hinds 4|d. River Plate sheep unchanged ; beef— ox fores 2 11-16 d, ox hinds 4 3-16 d. Wellington, June 22.— The Agent-General cables lunder, date London, the 20th :— There has been a better tone in the mutton market this week, and a firmer average price. Canterbury brand, 3£d ; Dunedin, Southland, and W.M.E. Company, 3fd ; other North Island brands, 3|d; River Plate, 3d. I^mb : The market is very firm Average price New Zealand lambs : Canterbury 'brand. s^d brands other than Canterbury sd. There* has been no alteration in the beef market recently. Butter continues in moderate demand at 94s per cwt.' Cheese is declining gradually ; to-day"s price is 64s per cwt, Canadian 555.
