Napier, April 16.— The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company cable : ' A further decline in . the values of mutton and lamb is reported. Quotations : Canterbury mutton, 4|d ; Napier, "Wellington, and North Island, 3fd. Lamb : First quality, 5Jd ; second, s^d.' April 16 —Wheat : Manitoban, 3s 8d per bushel ; River Plate, 27s 6d per quarter. In butter there is & brisk trade. New Zealand, 100s to 102s ; Danish, unchanged.
Cheese is firm at 69s to 70s ; Canadian, 70s to 71s. Rabbits are ia large supply, and jare quoted at about 7d.
London, April 18.— Frozen Mutton. — Sheep : Canterbury, light and medium, 4|d. Lambs : Canterbury, light and heavy, 5? ; Dunedin and Southland, ssd ; North Island, sd. New Zealand beef (180tb to 2201 b, fair average quality) : Ox fores, nominal, 3£d ; hinds, 4^d. River Plate beef (nominal) : Fores, 3£d ; hinds, 4^d. Wellington, April 20.— Under date the 18th inst. the Agent-General cables : — ' There is a good demand for all qualities of mutton. Canterbury, 4\- ; Dunedin, Southland, and Wellington Meat Export, 4|d ; other North Island, H^d. Lamb is quiet. Canterbury, ssd ; other brands, s|d. Beef is quiet. New Zealand hinds, 4}d fores, 3|d. Butter is in better demand owing to the wintry weather. Price, 101s. Cheese is steady at 695. The hemp market is firm. Good fair Wellington, on spot, £32 10s ; to arrive, £29 10s. The cocksfoot market is very dull. Prices for New Zealand, 171 b standard, 545.'
