WOOL, SKINS, TALLOW, ETC.
London, January 22. — Good wools are firm ; faulties are dragging. American buyers are more active. London, January 23. — At the wool sales faultless showed a 5 per oent. decline. Good wools are very firm Crossbreds have an upward tendency. The Acland clip realised 6}d. Wellington, January 25.— At the local wool sales, held to-day, 2836 bales were offered, but the greater portion was withdrawn. Prioes were disappointing, showing a decline of id to |d on crossbred fleece wool, and }d to Jd on pieces. The prices ruling were as follows : — Fine crossbred, s|d to 6Jd per lb ; clean medium, 5d to 5Jd ; ooarse, 4Jd to 4Jd ; leg-etained and inferior, 3£d to 4d ; pieces and bellies, 2Jd to 3*d ; locks, l£d to 2*d.
