\ ruxn has been started in Wellington to reimburse to theMarißt Urotheri. late of Stoke, a portion at least of the heavy financial losses winch they have been compelled to undergo in their defence against the long-continued persecution to which they have lately bot-Ji subjected. The Rev. Father O'Shea, the Presbytery, Boulcott s-treer. Wellington, is Hon. Treasurer of the fund, and will receive subscriptions forwarded to him for this purpose. We have received trip following amounts for transmission to the Rev. Treasurer :—: — Rev. P. Murphy, Adm., £3 3s ; Rev. J. Lynch (Palmerston Sontrt) -PI Is; Rev J. OoflVy (South Dunedin). £1 Is : Rev. H. W. Cleary, £1 Is. Per Very Rev. J. O'Neill (Milton) : Very Rev. J. O'Neill, £1 Is ; the Dominican Nuns (Milton), 10s; Mr T. Halpin, 10s. Smaller amount"* raise the total to £5 ss. which ia the first instalment from the Mil'on parish.
