SCHOOL EXAMINATIONS.
MARIST BROTHERS' SCHOOL, WELLINGTON.
(From our own correspondent).
The annual distribution of prizes to the pupils of the Marist Brothers' School, Wellington, took place in the Exchange Hall. His Grace Archbishop Redwood presided. The dramatic club in connection with theiOld Boys' Association provided an entertainment consisting of the comedy ' Snowball,' in which the following took part:— Miss Sullivan, Messrs. R. Kelly, Reid, A. McDonald, T. Walshe, A. McGregor, and T. Marshall. Two choruses, ' Merry sunshine ' and ' Pulaski,' were sung by the boys of the school.
Rev. Brother Mark thanked all present for their patronage, and reported that the year just concluded had been for the school a most successful and encouraging one. Archbishop Redwood, who was greeted with cheers, complimented the Brothers and pupils on the report which Brother Mark had just given. The result of the Catholic schools' examination by the Government Inspector was one of which all well-wiehers of a true education of our youth should feel proud, and showed that in Wellington, as in other parts of ths Colony, the Catholic schools, besides imparting a thorough knowledge of our holy religion, were at least holding their own with Government institutions in the matter of secular education.
