WEDDING BELLS.
CUNNINGHAM-MEADOWS. A wedding which attracted a good deal of interest (writes our Christchurch correspondent) took place in the Pro-Cathedral on • Thursday, October 26th., when Mr. Wm. J. Cunningham, of Christchurch, and Miss Rosina Meadows, eldest daughter of Mr. G. J. Meadows, of St. Albans, were united in holy matrimony by the Rev. Father Crotty. The bride, who wore a dress of white silk trimmed . with insertion and lace, and veil and wreath of orange blossoms,, was given away by her father. The bridesmaids were Miss Maud ~ Meadows (sifter), and Miss Bessie Rowe, who wore cream dresses and picture hats. They also wore handsome gold brooches set with pearls and diamonds, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. W. McKay acted as best man, and Mr. H. Knight performed the duties of. groomsman After the ceremony the party were driven to the . residence of the bride's parents, where a reception took place. The wedding breakfast was laid in a large marquee, aud was partaken of by about 100 guests. Various toasts were duly honoured, including the 'bride and bridegroom,' proposed by Father Crotty. A garden party was held in the afternoon, and in the evening many additional visitors were present and entertained with music &c. The honeymoon was spent in Timaru. The presents were numerous and valuable, including a cheque for a substantial amount from Messrs P and D. Duncan, the bridegroom's employers, an overmantel with silver plate suitably inscribed from his fellow employees, a - mirror hallstand in walnut from the bride's parents, a tea sst from the bride's fellow employees, at Messrs Ballantyne & Co. a establishment. ..
