DUNEDIN nORSE SALEYARDS.

Messrs Wutiht. Stj:phi:.vson', and Co. report as follows for Saturday. Xoveoiber (! :—: — For Saturday's sale there was a fair muster of horses, chiefly draughts, the in.ijority of them very old, but irulu.imjr three or four first- jla^s youn»- mares and geldings. The young horses found purchasers at from LI-VJ to L 35, but f>r the aged ones there was very little douiand, and only a fow of them changed hands at from LlB to L 22. Powerfnl cart geldings suitable for hoavy waggons, lorries, and cart<, are much wanted by the town carriers and others, and a 6rst-clas3 draught mare can always b 3 sold at full value. Coisirnments of aged and inferior droughts we cannot recommend for thia market. The number of light harness horses forward was small, but those that were young 1 and of good stamp sold revdily at quotations. There is plenty of inquiry at the present time for the following classes of light horses — viz, strong upstanding spring van, spring cart and tramway horses (if young ani sound), for first-class buggy horses and for well-bred weight-carrying hacks for lady's hacks. Consignments of any of these classes can be disposed of to advantage in the Duued.in market just now. We quote as follows : First-class

young draught mares and geldings, L 35 to L4O good do, L 23 to L 33 ; medium draught mares and geldings L2oto I 25 ; aged do, Ll2 to LI 8 ; first-class hack and light-harness horses, LlB to L 25 ; good do, Ll2to Ll7 ; medium do, L 7 to LlO ; aged and inferior, L2to L 5.
