NOAH AND THE WEATHER OFFICE
(jLD Noah he cocked a weather ‘eye ? At the sea-swell scale and the cloud in the sky And he said "They predict that we’re in for a High Though a trough of Low Pressure may come from the west -Scattered showers for some districts and rain for the Test. The isotherm readings have all gone awry And the Fitzroy barometer says Very Dry With a nimbus-cumulus-strato." e And Noah sent up a trial balloon --The string was held by a young baboonWith a note to the Weather Boys up in the moon. In the note was written "Be seeing you soon With a nimbus-cumulus-strato." And Nosh he checked the Wet-and-Dry And over the Beaufort sniffed, And he posted the Chimp to stand by the pump And the Crane by the topping-lift. And Noah looked to his Aneroid And he swivelled his radar eye To the draw and the set of the tops’!s And the baggy-wrinkle sky, And he sent the Weasel To start up the diesel And clewed up the foremost courses, And the crew on the wheel Were the Widgeon and Teal Backed up by willing horses. And Noah before he went down to dine Lashed an extra tarpaulin over the wine -Not lest water or woe should betide it. But to cover up Chesterton snoring beside it With a nimbus-cumulus-strato, O,
With a nimous-Cumulus-strato,
Denis
