Sir,-As a "near-back-blocks" listener for the last 10 years, I would like to express my appreciation of the great and varied service the NZBS gives us. W.G.D, has prompted me to make special mention of the religious broadcasts. For my part I cannot thank you enough for the chance to hear hymn sessions; beautiful special services at Easter and Christmas; the two Sunday Church services, and the daily devotional services. In this valley there is one church service a month, so we are very dependent on the radio to fill the gaps. I would like to say "thank you" to the ministers who set such a high standard on the devotional services, which must be a great source of strength and comfort to hundreds of farmers’ wives, the elderly, and invalids, cut off from normal Church activities. I hope that the NZBS will keep up the good work and that no one will persuade them. to cut down on religious broadcasting.
