Sir -By signing himself"‘Anglican," your correspondent on the subject of Anna Russell’s burlesque of the "white sheet brigade" may give the impression that he speaks for a majority in the Church of England. This, I am certain, is far from being the case. As one who witnessed this. performance with unmixed delight I.hope I am. not offending against "good taste" if I claim to be both churchman and musician. One sentence in the letter-*Slight-ing references to the ability of the singers are in the worst taste. under any circumstances"-would scarcely receive general acceptance. In fact, on a second reading, I feel it could very well be incorporated in Miss Russell’s introductory remarks to her act, and fit in per-
fectly.
