Iris Stains
Dear Aunt Daisy, . I wonder if you could help me with my problem. I have some very dirty marks on my wallpaper caused by irises, The paper is only newly done, and being a very light paper, does show the marks up very badly, I have tried stale bread but with no result. If you should know of anything at all, I would be very grateful to you indeed.

I have the same stain in my sittingroom, and cannot remove it. Here is one suggestion from "Another Listener," Auckland. "You were speaking about iris-stains on wallpaper, I will tell yeu how I removed ink-marks, which may help. Last Christmas I had my daughter with children staying with me, An Ink bottle was left with top off. he youngest child somehow got the bottle ‘and spilt ink on the paper. It is a state house and I felt desperate, but I got every mark off by doing this. I dampened the place with milk, dabbing it gently again and again. Then while still damp I pat baking soda on it and left it to dry. When I brushed the powder off, not a mark was left,"
