A Burnt Casserole
Dear Aunt Daisy, Could you or any member of your Daisy Chain please help me to clean an extremely black burnt casserole dish? I did a casseroled rabbit a few weeks ago, and have not, as yet, found a way of getting the firmly-placed blackness off any of the inside! I would be most grateful for any helpful suggestions at all through The Listener.

£ nave used a good detergent powder in this way: Put a generous quantity in| the casserole, cover wel] with hot water, | and either boil, if aluminium, or heat in ) oven if pyrex or china, for an hour or so. Then leave to stand with lid on for a day or so, after which I have found the badly-burnt black will scrape off, and finally wash with a pot-mitt.
