All About Music
HAVE appreciated the clarity of the talks on modefn British composers given for several weeks now from 4YC by Graham Carritt. (I have wondered, however, if I am alone in my frustration that they should clash with the equally informative Jazz Club, U.S.A., heard recently from 4YA at the same time.) It is not enough merely to hear a musical composition-most of us need a few aids to its fullest appreciation, and Dunedin stations have been providing these with some abundance, In addition to the two I have mentioned, we have’ Musical, Notebook from 4YC on Wednesdays, while on Saturdays from the same station, Owen Jensen discusses. with illustrations the work of contemporary composers. With 4YC to keep a patriarchal eye on our cultural | development, we shall soon have little
excuse for ignorance.
