Scratches on Furniture
Dear Aunt Daisy, I heard you give a distress signal from two women about furniture that had become scratched. I had the same problem with a walnut radio cabinet which had deep scratches. I simply rubbed olive oil into the marks, and they disappeared like magic. They all became the same shade as the wood. Of course the marks are still there, but not noticeable as before. «4 New Link." About scratches on furniture, I hasten to tell you what I always use and find very good. Rub the scratches with half
a hazel nut-it is the oil that does the trick, and then polish with a good floor polish. "Dunedin." Recently I heard you talking about scratched furniture, and feel that my tip may help. The scratches disappear and don’t come through again! All you do is get a walnut kernel and rub in well into the seratch (no matter how big) and you'll find it will be gone in no time. Let the oil from the walnut soak in a few minutes and then polish in the usual way. Veneer and solid woods can be treated in the same way. :
"Auckland Link."
