PUBLIC SPEAKING

Sir,-It is noticed that in a recent copy of The Listener a photograph of Mr. A. G. Sleeman, of Station 3ZB, was published together with a statement that he had won the New Zealand Institute of Public Administration Senior Public Speaking Contest for 1949. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Mr. Sleeman won the senior division for the Canterbury Branch~ only, and that the national finals will not be decided until October 6. The incorrect statement appearing in the issue referred to is of no great consequence, but it may be a little embarrassing for Mr. Sleeman, and I am drawing your attention to it’in case you may wish

to make a cortection.-

M. P.

(We learn as we go to press that Mr. Sleeman has himself made the correction, appropriately, by ,winning the national finals.-Ed.)
