MUSIC FOR MILKERS

Sir,-I write in support of "Mrs, Early Riser" in her plea for earlier sessions from 1YZ Rotorua, than the present 6.0 a.m. session. The idea of rising .at 4.0 a.m. and earlier would be a horror to many city folk. Nevertheless many people just take it in their stride. I would not suggest that the station open at 4.0 a.m., but I think that the extra hour from 5.0 a.m. to 6.0 a.m. would be greatly appreciated. One poirftt not mentioned by "Mrs,’ Early Riser" is the fact that there is news at 6.0 a.m., news at 7.0 a.m. and for ‘the poor unfortunates who are in the shed at 8.0 a.m. news again. One can have too much of a good thing, and with those sessions out, there is very little music for the morning milking. Rotorua is supposed to be our station, Why not cater for us? This is a Very large dairying area. I would suggest that, as city people have their ZB stations without news, so could we have Rotorua. Where they have their stations open until midnight, we need to have an extra hour at the other end of the day. Should there be an early morning cow cockies’ request session I predict that it would be the snappiest session of the week. :
