Dustless Stove Polish
Dear Aunt Daisy, I have long wanted a real good recipe of a dustless polish for the range and was so pleased to get yours from The Listener. However, after making it I am afraid to use it. We use bluestone for footrot and always keep it in an earthenware jar, as the bluestone rots tin. I was wondering if it would have | any effect on the polish container, or.
on the range.
"Sweep."
I think the bluestone as used in the recipe for dustless stove polish must be sate, because we have been giving the recipe for about ten years and have never heard of any bad results. However, one Link itt the Daisy Chain has written to say that she simply polishes her stove with black boot polish, and that the stove never looks dull. Another Link rubs the hot part of the stove with a cut onion before she applies any polish, She uses this recipe: Four cakes blacklead, 3 tablespoons floor wax, 1 cup turpentine. Mix well together. Makes stove very black and shines like glass. Very clean and no dust.
