"COMMANDO STORY"
NEW serial expected to be very popular with ZB listeners is Commando Story, which will be heard for the first time from 2ZB on Monday, March 27, and subsequently at other ZB stations. It will take the place of Our of the Darkness on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7.30 p.m. An Australian production, the story is based on the exploits of the Timor Commandos. The cast is mainly that of Coast Patrol -indeed it was the success of that feature that gave the idea of a new serial about commandos. The author of both is Maurice Chapman, and the leading part is taken by Eric Bush, who played the part of Cole in Coast Patrol. The setting of Commando Story is Australia, but it opens in Honolulu on the day the Japanese made their attack on Pearl Harbour. John Drew, the central figure, is living there with his family, and sees them killed. He returns to Australia, and joins the Commandos.
