Shortbread
Dear Aunt Daisy, While the farmers’ wives have butter to spare, it is nice to make plenty of biscuits and shortbread against the time when the cows "go off" and butter is scarce. Mine is a good recipe:1 Ib. butter; 8 oz. icing sugar; pinch salt; 3 cups flour; 2 cups best cornflour. Try it, it is lovely -R.S. (Timaru.)
