Last year tbe amount produced exceeded 5,000,000 pounds weight: The bulk of this materlal went into the production of "Nylon" yarn and was used mostly for hosiery. In England to-day "Nylon" 19 being manufactured by Imperial Chemical Indus- tries In two forms _ in yarn and bristles: The war bas restricted the large scale production of "Nylon" yarns, and "Nylon" hosiery will probably pot be avallable until after the war. The whole output of yarn has been taken over by the British Air Department for thbe manufacture Of parachutes: "Nylon" bristle bas considerable ad- vantages over hog bristles in toothbrushes Lclt wears better and does not break of Or 80 soft in service.
