WOMEN AND THE WURLITZER

To the Editor, "The Listener" Sir,-In your issue of November 24, on one of the pages devoted to the Commercial Stations, appeared an article entitled " Meet the Ladies," dealing with

the radio career of Dorothea Ryan. In this article it was stated that Miss Ryan has the distinction of being the only woman Wurlitzer organist in New Zealand. Miss Rita Holmes, well-known in Dunedin musical circles, besides being a talented pianiste and singer, is an accomplished Wurlitzer organist; as is also I believe, Miss Iris Mason of Wellington. As this is an accomplishment so rare among the women musicians of New Zealand I think it only fair that Miss Holmes and Miss Mason should not be forgotten. Yours. etc..
