Work by Expending Agents General The Board ceased to provide welfare from patriotic funds for Service personnel in New Zealand as at 31st March, 1947. As regards overseas personnel, from that date the cost of welfare was met from funds made available from art-union profits. At the 31st March, 1947, the Church of England Military Affairs Committee and the Y.M.C.A. War Services Committee were the only expending agents of the Board engaged in welfare work in camps and Air and Naval stations. In addition, the Y.M.C.A. continued to operate the recreation huts at Domain Hospital, Auckland, and Kotorua, Hutt, and Wellington Hospitals until their control was vested in the Joint Council of the Order of St, John and the New Zealand Bed Cross Society.
