SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH DEPARTMENT

(a) £600 provided on main estimates. The Journal is in arrears, and the Government Printer is now in a position to bring it up to date by the end of the year. (b) £100 provided on main estimates. It is anticipated that considerably more overtime will be worked than was originally contemplated. (c) £1,600 provided on main estimates. Grant to Canterbury Agricultural College to provide staff for wool-survey work. (d) Item required to write off £3 18s. Dd. petty cash stolen from the office of the Wool Manufacturers' Research Association. (e) £450 provided on main estimates. Grant to Cawthron Institute to provide staff for the carrying-out of soil surveys of tobacco areas. (/) Provision for cost of repairs to tram-car and to motor-van on hire from Post and Telegraph Department. Damage was caused by a collision of the two vehicles.
