(a) To cover salaries of additional officers on account of administration work in connection with the Land Sales Court work. (b) Provision made for remuneration of members of Land Sales Court, Committees, and expenses. (c) Portion of the Orakei-Papakainga area, City of Auckland, was purchased by the Crown between 1914 and 1918. The whole area as originally surveyed in 1898 contained 40 acres. A survey made in 1938 to define one of the Native areas disclosed, that accretion had taken place, the total area being 42 J- acres. The actual excess area contained in the Crown partitions was found to be 2 acres 1 rood 39-9 perches, for which the Natives are now being paid £688. (d) £2,000 provided on main estimates. Provision now made for increased expenditure entailed in operating a second dragline in this area. (e) Grant towards cost of repairs to, and operation of, s.s. "Te Aroha."
