I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 18th June, 1943.

No. 52/1942. —Petition of Tahatera Mohi Tomlins and 3 Others, of Pakipaki Praying for relief from the effect of the will of Pukepuke Tangiora, deceased. l am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, with a recommendation that the beneficiaries be represented on the trust and that legislation be promoted to vary the terms of the will in order that the housing and other requirements of the beneficiaries might be provided for out of the accumulated income fund. The Committee further recommends that the Native Trustee should be associated with the administration of Maori estates. 29th June, 1943.
