Special Report. I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Native Affairs Committee unanimously passed the following resolution : " That this Committee desires to express its high appreciation of the able, conscientious, and courteous manner in which the Chairman, Mr. J. 0 Brien, has conducted the affairs of the Committee during the session, and directs that the resolution be reported to the House. Final Report. The Native Affairs Committee, consisting of eighteen members, has held eleven meetings during the session, with an average attendance of ten members. n . ~ , „ . Including forty-four petitions brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it sixtv petitions, twenty-one have been reported on to the House, and thirty-nine are held over. Four parliamentary papers were duly considered by the Committee and reported on. The Native Purposes Bill was considered by the Committee, amended, and reported on. sth October, 1939.
