Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all Bills or other matters relating to labour which may be referred to it: the Committee to consist of Mr. Barrell, Mr. Campbell, Mr. Chapman, Mr. Coleman, the Hon. Mr. Hamilton, Mr. Holland, Mr. McKeen, Mr. Neilson, Mr. Poison, and the Mover." —(Hon. Mr. Armstrong.) Wednesday, the 29th Day oe September, 1937. Ordered, " That the New Zealand Institute of Clerks of Works Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."— (Mr. Chapman.) Thursday, the 4th Day or November, 1937. Ordered., " That the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill (No. 2) be referred to the Labour Bills Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Armstrong.)
REPORTS.
Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill (No. 2). I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill (No. 2.), and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill hereto annexed. 9th November, 1937.
New Zealand Institute of Clerks of Works Bill. I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered the New Zealand Institute of Clerks of Works Bill, and recommends that the Bill be not allowed to proceed. The Committee is of the opinion that the Government should take the subject-matter of the Bill into consideration after the report of the Building Code Committee of the Standards Institute is presented to it. 11th November, 1937.
