Extracts from, the Journals of the House of Representatives. Wednesday, the 12th Day oe October, 1932. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters relating to school-teachers, education, and public instruction generally, public-school training of teachers, higher education, technical education, manual instruction, and other matters affecting education which may be referred to it; the Committee to consist of Mr. Atmore, Mr. Bitchener, Mr. Bodkin, the Rev. Mr. Carr, Mr. i'rascr, Mr. H. Holland, Mr. de la Perrelle, Mr. Schramm, Mr. Sykes,, and the mover." —(Hon. Sir Apibana Ngata.) Thuksday, the 13th Day of Octobek, 1932. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1931 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session, and that all petitions received during the first session of 1932 be dealt with as if they had been received this session." —(Right Hon. Praying for free conveyance to and from Palmerston North of school-children of Rongotea and district who require secondary and technical education. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, with a recommendation that the amount of moneys formerly devoted to Junior Scholarships be utilized for the purpose of enabling country children requiring such assistance to acquire secondary and technical education in accordance with the recommendation of the Recess Education Committee. 2nd November, 1932.

Praying for continuation of subsidy to free kindergartens.
