Dentists Amendment Bill. I AM directed to report that this Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that the said Bill has been carefully considered, and that the, Committee recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with tile amendments shown on the copy of the Bill attached hereto. 23rd September, 1924.

No. 6, Petition of V. 8. Morley and 0 Others ; No. 7, Petition of A. Ambler and 12 Others ; and No. 8, Petition of M. S. FoSSEY and 7 Others. Praying for legislation to grant them further opportunities to be registered as dentists. I have the honour to report that the Committee has considered the above-mentioned petitions, and recommends, — (1.) That petitioners should be allowed to sit for further examinations, over a limited period of years, on subjects dealing purely with dentistry, and in any such examination candidates shall be credited with partial passes secured in any previous examinations. (2.) That petitioners who are unable to pass such an examination shall be entitled to continue their occupation as existing before the Dentists Amendment Act, 1921-22, was enacted, but under the strict supervision of a registered dentist. 23rd September, 1924.

No. 9.—Petition of William Joseph Stmpson, of Wellington. Praying for legislation to enable him to register as a dentist in New Zealand under his English qualification. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petitioner, in view of the special circumstances of the case, should lie allowed to register. 23rd September, 1924.

No. 186. —Petition of Annie Holdkn, and 253 Others. Praying for an increase of pension to £100 for Miss Georgina Hopper, late Matron of Danncvirke Hospital, or an inquiry as to the reason for her dismissal. 1 am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 23rd September, 1924,

No. 182/22. —Petition of Eliza Kerr, of Wellington. Praying that her name be removed from the mental-hospital records of New Zealand as an inmate thereof. 1 am directed to report that the Committee, having carefully considered the petition, has no recommendation to make. 3rd October, 1924.

No. 327. —Petition of Alexander George Melles, of Hastings. Praying for legislation to enable him to sit for examination as a dentist. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee statutory provision should be made enabling the petitioner to sit for examination. 3rd October, 1924,

No. 343. —Petition of Cecil Major Stagpoole, of Palmerston North. Praying for legislation to enable him to sit for examination as a dentist. I am directed to .report that in the opinion of the Committee statutory provision should be made enabling the petitioner to sit for examination. 10th October, 1924,

No. 384. —Petition of Alfred St. John Parsons, of Wellington. Praying for legislation to enable him to sit for examination as a dentist. I am directed to report that, in view of the petitioner having been prevented by illness from sitting when eligible to sit, the Committee recommends he be given a further opportunity to sit for examination. 17th October, 1924,
