No. 142 (1915). —Petition of Areta Kerei and Another, of Wairoa. Praying for an inquiry re their claims to fishing-grounds known as Te Manga, Wairoa River. I am. directed to report that, as the petitioners have not exhausted their legal remedy, the Committee has no recommendation to make. Bth October, 1915.

Praying that certain land in tlic Parish of Matata, on the western side of the Rangitaiki River, alleged to have been taken by the Crown, be returned to them. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. Bth October, 1915.
