[Translation.] RIPOATA MOTUHAKE. Tenei te Komiti mo nga Mea Maori kei te whai honore kite ripoata atu. i te huihuinga whakamutunga o te Komiti, i tv i te ahiahi inanahi, paahitia ana tenei motini c whai ake nei, a kaore rawa hoki he reo whakahe :— " E hiahia ana te Komiti kia tuhituhia a ratou kupu mihi whakawhetai atu mo te kaha, te mohio, me te ngawari hoki ote Tiamana, Mr. J. A. Young, i nga huihuinga o tenei Komiti; me tenei motini hoki me tuhituhi ki runga ki nga meneti o te Komiti ka ripoata atu ai kite Whare." 6 o Noema, 1912.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that at the final meeting of the Native Affairs Committee, held yesterday afternoon, the following resolution was passed unanimously : — " That this Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the excellent work don s by the Clerk, Mr. H. W. Harris, who has been most punctilious and painstaking in attending to his duties ; his knowledge and ability have been of the greatest assistance to the Committee, and the Committee recommends that he be given a permanent appointment on the staff of the Legislative Department. That this recommendation be reported to the House and referred to the Government for favourable consideration." 6th November, 1912.

W. Harris, i tino pai i tino kaha rawa aiaki te mahi i ana mahi; na tona mohio me tona kaha tino awhinatia ana te Komiti i runga i ana mahi, a c whai kupu tohutohu penei atu ana te Komiti me hoatu he turanga pumau mona ki runga kite ropu tuturu ote Tari Paremete. Ako tenei motini hoki me ripoata atu kite Whare me te tuku atu kite Kawanatanga kia whakaarohia paitia." 6 o Noema, 1912.

Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting yesterday afternoon. During the session the Committee held 48 meetings, and had an average attendance of 9-75. Including 25 brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it 125 petitions. Of these, 89 were considered and reported upon, and the remaining 36 are held over until next session. Upon 34 the CoTnmittee reported favourably, and upon 55 it had no recommendation to make. The following Bills were referred to the Committee, were duly considered, and reported upon ; East Coast Native Trust Lands Amendment; Kaiapoi Reserve ; Native Land Amendment; Ellesmere Lands Drainage Amendment; and Orakei Model Suburb. Including one brought forward from last session, the Committee had referred to it 9 parliamentary papers, which were duly considered and reported upon. The total number of reports submitted to the House was 92. 6th November, 1912.
