LEASE-IN-PERPETUITY SYSTEM (RETURN RELATIVE TO TENANTS UNDER) WHO HAVE SOLD THEIR GOODWILL.

Return to fin Order of the House of Representatives dated the 4th November, 1000. Ordered, " That there bo laid before this House a return showing for the last two years,—(l) The number of tenants under the lease-in-perpetuity system, including the Cheviot Special Settlement Act, who have sold the goodwill of (heir lease ; (2) the number of times the goodwill of such sections has been sold : (IS) (he amount each individual has received for such goodwill; and (4) the valuation of improvements of each such section at the time of transfer.".—(Mr. Witty.) Return showing, for the Two Years ended 31st October, 1909, —(1) The Number of Tenants under the Lease-in-perpetuity System, including the Cheviot Special Settlement Act, who have sold the Goodwill of their Leases ; (2) the Number of Times the Goodwill of such Sections has been sold ; (3) the Amount each Individual has received for such Goodwill, and (4) the Valuation of Improvements of each such Section at the Time of Transfer. (1.) Total Number of Tenants under the Lease-in-perpetuity System who during the Two Years ended 31st October, 1909, have sold the Goodwill of their Leases. 1,794. (2.) The Number of Times the Goodwill of such Sections has been sold. 2,965. (3'.) The Amount each Individual has received for such Goodwill; and (4) the Valuation of Improvements of each such Section at the Time of Transfer.
