SCENERY PRESERVATION: AREAS OF NATIVE-OWNED BUSH RESERVED OR PROPOSED TO BE RESERVED IN THE MIDDLE AND STEWART ISLANDS UNDER "THE SCENERY PRESERVATION ACT, 1903"; WITH MAORI TRANSLATION.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 12th September, 1906. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing the total area, of Native owned bush which lias been or is proposed to be reserved in the Middle Island and Stewart Island under the Scenery Preservation Act, and the separate areas of each individual piece so reserved or to be reserved, together with the names of the localities in which each pieoe is situated, and the name or names of the hapus owning the same respectively."—(Mr. Pabata.)

Return showing the Native-owned Bush which has been or is proposed to be reserved in the Middle Island and Stewart Island under the Scenery Preservation Act, and the Separate Areas of each Individual Piece so reserved or to be reserved, together with the Names of the Localities in which each Piece is situated, and the Names of the Hapus owning the same respectively.

The above are the various areas of Native-owned bush that have been recommended by the late Scenery Preservation Commissioners for acquisition and reservation.
