I have the honour to send you herewith the tables (1) showing the estimated additional liability that would be involved in giving original members of the Teachers' Superannuation Fund half-allowance for service prior to the commencement of the scheme ; and (2) showing the retiringallowances that would be payable.

(2.) Total Average Retiring-allowances for Men and Women under the Proposal. (The average salary is somewhat over £180 for male teachers, and somewhat under £120 for women :it is assumed to be £180 and £120 respectively. The age of entry into the service is taken as 23 for men, 22 for women ; that of retirement as 63 and 57 respectively.)
