Christchurch, Thursday, 27th April, 1905. The Commission met at 10 a.m. Present: Messrs. McKerrow, Johnston, McLennan, Anstey, Paul, Matheson, and Forbes. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Wilson, Pringle, Stevenson, Murphy, and Humphreys. The Chairman moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Humphries, Commissioner of Crown Lands, and the Commission passed it unanimously with great warmth. It was moved by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. McLennan, and carried. That the continuation of Mr. Humphries' evidence be left over until the return of the Commission to the South Island. The Commission adjourned at 4.30 p.m., and left Christchurch the same afternoon en route for Auckland, by Lyttelton and Wellington.
Auckland, Tuesday, 2nd May, 1905. The Commission met at 3 p.m. Present: All the members of the Commission. The Commision adjourned at 5 p.m.. after two hours' work in committee. Wahkwobth, Thursday, 4th May, 1905. The Commission left Auckland on the 3rd, driving by land to Waiwera, and arrived at Warkworth by steamer from Waiwera about 6 p.m. On the 4th the Commission met at Warkworth at 9.45 a.m., and remained in committee till 10, when the public was admitted. Present: All the Commissioners, Mr. McKerrow in the chair. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Hood. Trotter, Sidil, French, Woodcock, Vipond, Sainsbury, T. Phillips, Clayden, and C. Phillips. The Commission adjourned at 3 p.m. Maunuatuhoto, Friday, sth May, 1905 The Commission met at 4 p.m. Present: Messrs. McKerrow (in the chair), Forbes, Matheson, McCardle, McCutchan, McLennan, Anstev, Paul, and Johnston. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Smith, Fisher, Peebles, Anderson, Jackman, Baley, Windsor, Myers, Dalrymple, Hanes, and Snelling. The Commission adjourned at 9.15 p.m. Kawakawa, Monday, Bth May, 1905. The Commission met at Kawakawa at 2 p.m. Present: All the Commissioners, Mr. McKerrow in the chair. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. J. A. L. Hall, Blundell, Ward, Parsons, and R. A. Hall. The Commission adjourned at 5.30. Opua, Tuesday, 9th May, 1905. The Commission met at Opua at 9.30 a.m. Present: Messis. McKerrow (in the chair). Matheson, McLennan, Paul, and McCardle, the resl absent on leave. The Commission heard Mr. Lane, adjourned at 10, resumed on board s.s. Clansman at II 10, heard Mr. Press, and adjourned at 12.40. Between the hearing of the two witnesses, the minutes of the meeting at Kawakawa (Bth May) were read and confirmed. Whangakoa, Tuesday, 9th May, 1905. The Commission met at Whangaroa on arrival of the s.s. " Clansman," at 3.20 p.m. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. AY. J. Lane, Begg, Hove, Weber, and Reid, The Commission adjourned at 5 p.m.
