No. 166.—Petition of Edward Fawgoner Tizard (No. 2). Petitioner complains that he is unable to complete the purchase of a portion of the Tarawhete No. 2 Block, and prays for relief. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 23rd August, 1895,

No. 142.—Petition of Pouwhaeeumu Toi. Petitioner prays that a promise made by Hon. Sir Donald McLean, to reserve 1,000 acres for Toi and the Ahitahi Hapu, may be fulfilled. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make in reference to this petition. 23rd August, 1895.

No. 113.—Petition of Wi Kingi Hoei and Another. Petitionees pray that there may be a rehearing in the matter of the Kaiaua Block. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that the allegations contained in the petition should be inquired into, and, if found to be true, the Government should grant some redress. 27th August, 1895.

No. 228.—Petition of Hare Eakena te Aweawe and 52 Others. Petitioners pray that in order to be in a position to pay off their debts they may be allowed to sell their spare lands to purchasers other than the Government. I have the honour to report that as there is a Bill now before the House dealing with the subject the Committee has no recommendation to make. 27th August, 1895.
