by Her Majesty's Government, and if the Government of New Zealand suffers a disadvantage in having to pay the money in anticipation of the date when it is actually due, it is only the natural result of circumstances which are common to all distant communities who are subject to liabilities to be discharged in England. Their Lordships wonld further observe that the insertion in the account forwarded in their letter of 16th June last, of the dates of the payment of the money into the Treasury Chest, was necessary to identify the respective sums paid, and was not intended to convey the impression drawn by the Colonial Treasurer.
