Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives Wednesday, the 7th Day of July, 1948 Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of nine members, to consider all Bills and other matters relating to mining which may be referred to it: the Committee to consist of Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Baxter, Mr. Bodkin, Mr. Cotterill, Mr. Doidge, Mr. Kent, Mr. Murdoch, Mr. Roy, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Tuesday, the 17th Day of August , 1948 Ordered, " That the Coal Bill be referred to the Goldfields and Mines Committee."—(Hon. Mr. MoLagan.) Friday, the 20th Day of August, 1948 Ordered, " That the name of Mr. Roy be discharged from the Goldfields and Mines Committee and that of Mr. T. L. Macdonald substituted therefor." —(Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Ordered, " That the Mining Amendment-Bill be referred to the Goldfields and Mines Committee."— (Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Thursday, the 26th Day of August, 1948 Ordered, " That the Goldfields and Mines Committee have leave to sit during the present sitting of the house."—(Mr. Armstrong.) Wednesday, the Ist Day of September, 1948 Ordered, " That the Goldfields and Mines Committee have leave to sit during the sitting of the House on Thursday, 2nd September, 1948."—(Mr. Armstrong.)
REPORTS
Mining Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Goldfields and Mines Committee has carefully considered the Mining Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown in the copy of the Bill hereto annexed. 9th September, 1948.
