ORDERS OP REPERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the 12th Day of July, 1934. Ordered, '' That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all Bills containing provisions of a technical legal character which may be referred to it; with power to confer and sit together with any similar Committee appointed by the Legislative Council: the Committee to consist of Mr. Barnard, Mr. Bodkin, Mr. Broadfoot, Hon. Mr. Cobbe, Mr. Endean, Mr. Field, Mr. Mason, Mr. Schramm, Mr. Wilkinson, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Cobbe, for Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata.) Wednesday, the 11th Day or July, 1934. Ordered, " That the Judicial Proceedings (Regulation of Reports) Bill be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Cobbe.) Tuesday, the 31st Day oe July, 1934. Ordered, " That the Distress and Replevin Amendment Bill be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee." (Hon. Mr. Cobbe.) Wednesday, the 15th Day of August, 1934. Ordered, "That the Mortgagors and Tenants Relief Amendment Bill be refetred to the Statutes Revision Committfee."—(Mr. Veitch.) Friday, the 17th Day or August, 1934. Ordered, " That the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Bill be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee for consideration of the amendments made by the Legislative Council."—(Hon. Mr. Cobbe.)
REPORTS. Mortgagors and Tenants Relief Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the Mortgagors and Tenants Relief Amendment Bill and heard evidence thereon, and recommends that the Bill be not allowed to proceed ; but in view of the fact that difficulties exist in connection with the operation of the personal covenant, the whole question of which is involved, further recommends that the Government investigate the problem of the personal covenant generally. 25th September, 1934.
Reciprocal Enforcement op Judgments Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has considered the amendments made by the Legislative Council to the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Bill and referred to the Committee for consideration, and recommends that the amendments be agreed to with a further amendment to clause 2 (two), as follows : — " That the words ' and also includes judgments that have become enforceable as judgments of the Supreme Court though not given therein' be added after the words 'so given' in line 40 in clause 2 (two)." 25th September, 1934.

Judicial Proceedings (Regulation of Reports) Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the Judicial Proceedings (Regulation of Reports) Bill and heard evidence thereon, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown in the attached copy of the Bill. 2nd October, 1934.
Distress and Replevin Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has considered the Distress and Replevin Amendment Bill, and recommends that, owing to the lateness of the session, it not be proceeded with, but that it be introduced early next session. 2nd April, 1935. W. J. Broadfoot, Chairman.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the excellent services rendered by Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, as Chairman of the Committee, and directs that this resolution be reported to the House. 2nd April, 1935. H. G. R. Mason, Member of the Committee.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee desires to express its appreciation of the services rendered to the Committee by the Clerk, Mr. L. C. Dawe, and that this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the Committee and reported to the House. 2nd April, 1935.
Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee, consisting of ten members, has held five meetings, with an average attendance at each meeting of five members. Four Bills were referred to the Committee, all of which were considered and reported to the House. 2nd April, 1935. W. J. Broadfoot. Chairman.
